Such a cute book! 10th grader인 Eleanor 와 Park의 풋풋한 사랑 이야기 전개된다.Fabulous 그리고 다행히 그저 그런 typical YA romance novel이라고 취급하기에 너무 이야기 전개나 인물 묘사가 훌륭하다.고등학교 수업이 어떤 식인지도 엿볼 수 있고 친구들과의 관계도 짐작할 수 있게 한다. 난 그때 어떤 아이였을까?Eleanor Douglas: big(chubby), red, new girl in town, her family style is in a shambles. (I hated her mother more that her stepfather)Park Sheridan: a half Korean, super cool kid trying to be invisible among crowds,(dont wanna stand out), his dad is never proud and his Korean mom just doesnt get American school. It was also interesting that the writer describes Park s mother as having a thick accent and Park s dad adores that part.Romeo and Juliet에 대해 논하는 수업 야기가 나오는데 어찌 보면 old cliche 같지만 너무 흡족하게 이야기가 전개돼서 마냥 흐뭇한 미소가...ㅋㅋThe way Rainbow Rowell writes is engaging that you can t put the book down. She is an exceptional writer. She reminds me one of my favorite writers, John Green in YA. She is like that league. Now Rainbow Rowell is on my list.honors class에 대한 소개도 잠시 나오는데 이 책을 읽으며 옛 미국 학교 시스템에 대해 새삼스럽게 다시 기억을 되살려셔 좋았다.알콩달콩 풋풋한 학창시절 아이들의 이야기, 대화를 들을 수 있어 재미있게 읽었다. 순수하게 이성에 눈을 떠가는 책이기에.... 우리 아이에게는.... 몇 학년 때쯤 추천을 하면 좋을까... 잠시 생각을 하게 된다. 흠.... 대학생? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ청소년을 겨냥한 소설이라 읽기도 쉽고 재미있어 영어원서 읽기에 도전하고 싶은 독자에게 추천하고프다.
